Going Gold

Backer digital copies have been sent. There'll probably be an update with whatever typo fixes still linger around sent out at the same time the print editions ship.

I'll upload the free rules-only version soon. It is not a LOT of work but it still takes time and I don't want to just toss up a bunch of text into a file and call it a day.

  1. I would like to voice that I am totally fine with a bunch of text tossed into a file.

    1. It is on the way, I was trying to do something more elaborate but it didn't turn out well enough. You'll get the game a week from now.

    4. Even so. He usually gets it out on time whenever he gives a hard deadline. I'm a bit worried is all.

    5. Hey guys, sorry about the silence. Everything's fine, I'm just overworked. I'm aiming for today in 12 hours or so, when I'm home and get to sit down.

    6. Ah, no problem, GimmickMan. Being a Teacher isn't an easy job. I'm a bit antsy. I remember when you posted GGG to /tg/ all those years ago, and now the final version of BCG is almost here. It's a bit surreal, man.

    7. I've been working IT for a while actually (I should update my profile I guess) and I got promoted a few months ago which increased my workload considerably.

And yeah, it has certainly been a while. Thanks for sticking around all this time! Anyhow, posting stuff in a bit.

  3. Sorry for posting it here, but i didn't find better place for discussions.
For some time i really wanted to make a game in Gundam setting. But i didn't search hard, so decided to make some monster from Battletech, DnD and WoD...
But after finishing some change explanations in my note, i decided to search one more time and luckely found GGG page on 1d4chan.
I was so happy, reading free pdf rulebook... but then i decided to look for updates for this system. And found Battle Century G.
And now i have 1 question:
Which system is better fit for Gundam company in UC or CE? With battles of mechas, mobile armor and cosmic ships, naval carriers and others? Without magic spellcasters and monsters?
    I read this topic http://tk31.blogspot.ru/2013/11/introducing-battle-century-g.html , but didn't decide.
If someone can tell me about his experience playing both systems and his opinion or give me link for discussion, i'll be very grateful.
Also there are additional rules for gundam-like mechas, like switching weapons, guarding with shield etc? I'm reading ~60 page of GGG 1.8 now, but if you can answer.... why not?)

    1. Hey, it is not a problem feel free to post about GGG if you want to, though I honestly don't remember GGG all that well by now. Like Anonymous below says, and as you may already know if you've read both, I'd say BCG is generally better. But there are a few things GGG does that BCG doesn't do.

For example, Remote Weapons (Funnels, Bits, Dragoons, etc.) are arguably better done in GGG, since they grant extra attacks but can be shot down, while in BCG they are just an indirect attack option that uses a different stat with limited ammo.

GGG also has custom weapons, so you can tweak the positives and negatives of your guns as you see fit. BCG is a much simpler system in which that just doesn't work without a much more extensive system, so there's no custom weapons at all.

BCG is a lot better at letting you choose your own power level though, so if you want to have guys in old and busted One Year Wear suits duking it out with guys in late UC-era crazy stuff that's much easier to do.

  4. BCG is like GGG v2. They're very similar. Go with BCG. It's more polished and better designed.
